Zwemwedstrijd van de regio`s van De Brug.

Zaterdag is er weer een Brug wedstrijd gezwommen, en wel de regio`s kampioenschappen.Deze wedstrijd werd gehouden in De Kalckwijk in Hoogezand.

DWS Stadskanaal deed ook mee aan deze wedstrijd. Er gingen maar liefst 37 medailles mee terug  naar Stadskanaal.Omdat we niet kunnen zwemmen in het Pagebad, zijn wij uitgeweken naar Vlagtwedde. Wel mooi opgelost voor onze zwemmers. De voorzieningen zijn daar niet zo optimaal als in ons thuisbad. Toch is er goed gezwommen door de 10 zwemsters en zwemmers van DWS.

Marieke v/d Burg was 1e op de 100 m. Schoolslag. 1e op de 100 m vrije slag en 1e op de 4×50 m. schoolslag estafette en 3e op de 25 m. Vlinderslag.                                                       

Jannie Bruintjes 1e op de 50 m. rugslag. 1e op de 50 m. vrije slag.  1e op met het estafette team 4×50 m. schoolslag. Ook deed Jannie mee aan de 4×50 m. vrije slag estafette 2e plaats. 

Karin v/d Eijk   was goed voor 3 medailles 1e op de 25 m. rugslag.1e op de 25 m. vrije slag. en 3e op de 25 m. schoolslag.           

Silvia Klamer was goed voor 3x goud en wel op de 25 m. schoolslag. en de 25 m. vrije slag en op de 25 m.rugslag. 

Marga den Boef behaalde 2 x de 2e plaats op de 50 m. vrije slag, 25 m. vlinderslag en 1e op de 100 m. wisselslag. Ook Marga zwom in de 4×50 m. vrije slag estafette en werd ook 2e.

Martin Prins was ook goed voor 1x  goud op de 25 m. rugslag, 6 op de 50 m. vrije slag en 3e op de 50 m. schoolslag, ook zwom Martin in de 4×50 m. schoolslag estafette 2e plaats.                               

Voor Miquel Buter waren er ook 3 medailles en wel op de 2e op de 50 m. vrije slag. 3e op de 25 m. vlinderslag en ook Miquel zwom in de 4×50 m.vrije slag estafette waar hij 2e mee was.

Ook zwom Siewert Smid mee in deze wedstrijd. Hij was 1e op de 50 m. schoolslag 2e op de 100 m. vrije slag en deed ook mee aan de 4×50 m. schoolslag estafette. Ook zwom Siewert mee in de 4×50 m. vrije slag was daar ook 2e mee.   

Geert Koop is van 1954 zwemt nog steeds wedstrijden  voor DWS en ook Geert nam 3 medailles mee naar Musselkanaal.Geert was 2e op de 25 m. rugslag, 2e op de 25 m. vrije slag en 2e op de 25 m. schoolslag. 

Erwin Veenstra werd 2e op de 25 m. rugslag en op de 25 m. schoolslag was Erwin ook nr 1.             

Ook was er nog een estafette team van 4×25 m. schoolslag met Karin ,Silvia , Geert en Erwin. Daar waren ze 2de plus nog 4 zilveren medailles.
